Whitewater Rafting - Colorado River

The Colorado River begins in the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park and flows 1400 miles through 7 states from Gore Canyon to the Grand Canyon. The Colorado River is the sixth largest river in the U.S.A. and is part of the Four Corners of the Southwest.

The Colorado River offers varying degrees of adventure from heart stopping Class V+ rapids to gentle meandering float trips. Whitewater rafting and boating along the river also brings about diverse scenery depending on which section of the river you raft.

The Colorado River can be broken up into four sections as it cuts through the Four Corners area. The Moab daily and half-day, Westwater Canyon, Cataract Canyon and Grand Canyon sections.

Cataract Canyon Rafting Trips
Cataract Canyon starts at the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers in Canyonlands National Park. Depending upon the time of year and the level of Lake Powell, Cataract Canyon can have up to 28 rapids that can exceed Class V. Typically, Cataract Canyon is done as a multi-day trip but some outfitters provide a one day trip via jetboat.

The Colorado River Westwater Canyon whitewater rafting trips can be done in one day or as an overnighter. Depending upon the time of year the Westwater Canyon rapids can range from Class II - IV as you navigate through 12 rapids.
